Thompson's speech reminded me of the New Testament's Parable of the Sower and the Seeds: <I>"Some seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants ... (Those seeds symbolize the people) who hear the Word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful."</I><BR/><BR/>The deceitful, worry-ridden Texas Legislature certainly strangled compassion and brotherly love when the passed this law. <I>"The hearts of these people have no feeling. They do not hear well with their ears. And they have shut their eyes. They do not want to see with their eyes. They do not want to hear with their ears. They do not want to understand in their hearts."</I><BR/><BR/>Thanks for sharing Rep. Thompson's speech! Now, I'm both a lover AND a fighter, but the kind of sickness demonstrated by the texas state legislature, much like that of my shameful home state (virginia -- It's a small gesture, but I won't capitalise either one) makes me wonder if the fight is worthwhile. I'm not sure how much longer I can stay in such an abominable nation (particularly when there seem to be others in the world which are more reasonable). Were JC here today, they'd crucify Him again.
