Yes, I made it. Ended up on a redeye to Atlanta in a non-reclining exit row seat. (Ow.) Then flew to New York in a center seat between two plus-sized people. Cozy!
Originally I was going back to work yesterday, but after that nonsense I said "Uh-uh!" and spent the afternoon unpacking and recuperating.
Now, having been away from work for nearly two weeks, I am swamped.
Later.

Glad you're home safely. :-)
My condolences on being stuck between two plus-sized people. Even when there's just one plus-sized person in the row of seats, it can be rough.
November 30
Happy Saint's Feast Day, Andrew!
You're a well-mannered young man, Andy. Just curious: Do you ask the passenger behind you if he or she would mind if you recline your seat? I always feel that, as it's an encroachment on someone else's space, I should ask. But no one else ever asks. So I usually just avoid it altogether and not decline to recline.
Well, as a vertically plus-sized person (6 feet exactly) who finds airline seats a bit tight, I can honestly say I don't really feel any particular loss of space when the seat in front of me reclines. Honestly, I don't think it's anyone's business but mine how I choose, with the limited means available to me, to make myself comfortable on a transcontinental flight.
But now you've given me a complex. Thanks.
Ha! Sorry. Didn't mean to give you a complex. Actually if you, possibly the most polite guy in the world, doesn't ask, then I won't ask either. (BTW, should have read "and decline to recline" not "not decline...")
