Changes

Well, if this isn't your first visit to The Last Debate, presumably you've noticed some changes to the template. These aren't necessarily final changes, so feel free to tell me what you think. I like that the new Blogger gives you these options, but I hope with time there are even more options (especially fonts, hello).

I intend for 2007 to be a year of major change for me. It's going to be scary. Looks like I'm going to end up leaping and hoping the net appears. Who knows where I will be a year from now? Will I be happier? Or will I have just moved my neuroses and anxieties to a different coast? Am I just trading one set of problems for another?

Don't worry, there will still be lots of cat pictures.

Best wishes to each and every one of you for this coming year.

I will leave 2006 behind and look forward to 2007 with the song "Only If..." by Enya:

When there's a shadow near, reach for the sun

When there is love in you, look for the one

And for the promises, there is the sky

And for the heavens are those who can fly

If you really want to, you can hear me say

Only if you want to will you find a way

If you really want to you can seize the day

Only if you want to will you fly

When there's a journey here follow the star

When there's an ocean here sail to far

And for the broken hearts there is the sky

And for tomorrow are those who can Fly

Nice blog look, Andy. And in particular, that's a nice picture of you. The old pic didn't do you justice. When I met you last summer, I thought that you were much better looking in person than in your blog picture.

As someone much older (but not any wiser), I'll say that, yes, you'll move your neuroses and anxieties to a different coast. But, you very well may be much happier as a result of the move.

You have my prayers and best wishes as you make these decisions.

I like the new look, Andy.

And... Happy New Year!

I like the new look--it looks clean.

I concur with David--I think you definitely will trade one set of problems for another. That doesn't mean you shouldn't do it, though. My husband did a lot of thinking about "newness" and said, "Everything new feels like transformation." Just know that just because it feels like transformation doesn't mean it won't get old.

Here's wishing you lots of positive change in the new year!

Well, I see I am already outvoted : ).

I think the red brings out too much red in your new photo; makes you look too ruddy. (And you know your photo is the most important part of your blog ; ). ) But as I am not even vaguely among the people you would ever try to attract, lacking a Y-chromosome ... my opinion, maybe not so important anyhow ; ). (I would offset your photo with maybe a cool, almost navy, blue--a better "mat" color for that photo, I think. You'd need to avoid yellow tones because of the background of the photo ... .)

Your new slogan is quite fun : ).

Happy 2007 : )!

It looks good, but being that this blog is one of the rocks in my life, which I hang on to for emotional stability, I am currently a bit shaken by the new template.

I'll try to be as annoying in 2007 as ever. God Bless you, and Happy New Year.

KR: I was sunburned in that picture, LOL. (Really.)

BTW, I much prefer this picture to the previous one. Smiling is a good thing- it often leads to happiness.

You're hot. So is the red.

i liked the old pic better. it gave off an image of contemplation and seriousness. the new one makes me think of howdy doody.

and the red is a little overpowering. maybe try a slightly more pastel shade?

the larger blog title i like a lot.
a nice addition, in my eyes.

anyway...
my opinion, for what its worth.

happy new year to you andy.
and best of luck on your moving plans.
i'll be looking to relocate this year also, so i think i understand the same concerns.

I like the new picture! The red surprised me at first, but it strikes me as bold and energetic. Dig the darker shirt too :)

The undeniable beauty of parquet flooring is financially out of reach for many people. A cost comparison between

replacing the old worn out wall to wall carpeting and installing parquet flooring will show that the parquet choice

is less expensive if you install it yourself.

If you don't have sub flooring which can be sanded and varnished, you might consider do it yourself parquet

flooring. Eight or twelve inch squares of finished oak are available in several shades of stain from dark walnut

like oak to pale natural tones. The wood grain is preserved in all finishes and the final clear coat will stand up

to most traffic.

I know you're just comment spam, but I have a parquet floor right now, and I love it. Honestly, it was a factor I had to weigh in my decision to move back to Oregon, where I'm almost certain to end up with -- *shudder* -- carpet. Ew. I will miss my beautiful floors. Maybe someday...
