On Cat Poo

How can something that smells so horrendous come out of something so adorable?

Hey Andy... when I had two cats ( one of whom put-down massive dookie ), I used FelinePine. I swear by it.

That's what we use! It's pretty great. But still, every once in a while, whew! Rocky doesn't quite understand the burying part of it. He poops, climbs out, and then scratches the wall next to the litter box.

Andy, I'm greatly amused because my Precious does the exact same thing Rocky does. Apparently, it's not an uncommon behavior.

I've often wondered the same thing, myself. It doesn't help that one of our cats (who is otherwise sweet and non-troublesome) seems to be in an unbreakable habit of pooing next to the litterbox instead of inside it. This has caused us to move it to a far, far corner of the house. *sigh*

Oh, well. I guess it's worth it. ;-)

I have a recipe for bad stinks. My partner discovered it when our dog got skunked twice -- in one month! It also worked (after several applications) in ridding the carpet of cat pee odor after the catboys made regular deposits in front of one of the closets.

baking soda
hydrogen peroxide
water

mix 'em till the baking soda is dissolved (works better with warm water)

That's it. You don't even need much. I would use one part soda, one part hp, ten parts water. It's pretty darn amazing. And super cheap.

I haven't tried it on poo stains but it works on skunk ejecta and cat pee so it's industrial.

Thanks, Glenn. Actually my cats are really good, they only want to use the box, so I don't really have messes to clean up. It's just that Rocky, especially, isn't good about covering it up. I have actually been awakened in the middle of the night by the smell. Sigh.
