A Few Numbers

116,000 dead and rising in south Asia and Africa.

$15 Million: the U.S. government's initial offer of aid.

$35 Million: our increased offer after a U.N. emergency relief coordinator called the aid efforts of western nations "stingy."

$40 Million: The cost of next month's inaugural festivities for President Bush.

Oh my...another whiner.

Instead of just bitching, like most of you lefties do...have you ever thought about providing a solution? Those who just whine and bitch are typically brain washed individuals who always follow one of way of doing things...what ever the DNC mandates. Are any of you self employed? If so, do you appreciate when your employees come up to you and bitch and whine without providing an solution? Of course not. You want them to add value and provide an answer to the problem.

How much money should they contribute? How much $$ did John Kerry spend on his campaign? Do you email your buddies with that question? Of course not b/c it would throw off your brain washed thinking. Do you strictly follow the democrats ideologies and everything they do is righteous and all others fail miserably?

It's sad that well over 100,000 lives have been lost. A lot of those lives could have been saved had these countries had the technologies WE have. Now, it'll cost far more to clean up than it would have to install those technologies in the first place.

If providing solutions is too difficult for you, allow me to assist you with another option.....MOVE TO CANADA!! Clearly, in your limited mind, they'll love you more and undoubtively do the right thing when it comes to interacting globally.....ehh!!

you know what's worse than simply whining (which is not what Andy was doing here)? it's posting tirades anonymously. if you have to attack people, don't be a coward about it.

now, as for the aforementioned tirade:
"Those who just whine and bitch are typically brain washed individuals who always follow one of way of doing things...what ever the DNC mandates."
ok, so if this is even true, how is this any different from those in the RNC? it might just be me, but republican=conservative=if-it's-not-broke-don't-fix-it=narrow-minded and stodgy.

"How much $$ did John Kerry spend on his campaign?"
What John Kerry spent on trying to get elected has nothing to do what would have been spent on him during his presidency. Andy's point, if I am interpreting it correctly, is that all this money is being spent on a stupid party where we now know it could do much more good somewhere else. Bush spent zero dollars of his own money during the campaign. What does that mean to me? Kerry cared enough to make a difference to put his own house on the line.

"Do you strictly follow the democrats ideologies and everything they do is righteous and all others fail miserably?"
It's the basis of liberal thinking to question everything, even ourselves.

"If providing solutions is too difficult for you, allow me to assist you with another option.....MOVE TO CANADA!!"
Where in your tirade (I do love that word) have you suggested an option? This moving to Canada doesn't solve the problem anymore than just stating the facts...oh, but wait, if I move to Canada, I'll no longer have a voice here in the states, the type of voice that gets things done, the type that Andy was employing when posting these figures to begin with. Truth is power. I'd say Andy was at least closer to a solution than you were when you posted this inane chatter.

I might be wrong, but I think Andy's point is that $15 Million is SKIMPY and that is exemplified by the amount that goes into the Innaugural balls! I went to Clinton's 97 Arkansas ball. It was worth every penny. Yet, I think it was a great way to put the aid into perspective. Way to go Andy.
