Dinner with my paternal grandmother at four months. If you look at my face, you can see that even then, I could already tell she was crazy. What do you think my mother is thinking? Posted by Picasa

Despite that authoritative answer, I would guess: "Great, let this nut into his life and he'll probably be psychologically disturbed to the point of becoming a homosexual"

That's what I would have thought, but maybe that's just me.

So what psychologically disturbing event happened to you when you were a child, LC? I'm just wondering why you turned out the way you did.

You see I was an upper middle class baby with a high-quality chocolate bar, so this socialist comes up to me and, complaining that other babies of the working class had lower quality or no candy, takes the candy away from me to distribute it among my less-fortunate peers.

I've had a grudge against socialists ever since. Plus, I think he was gay.

Oh, I wouldn't have read my comments more than once. They were meant jokingly, as sort of a parody on myself. She seems like she was pretty good with children in this picture.

Seriously, it is ludicrous to theorize that specific details in a person's life can make him or her a homosexual. My only theory would be that long-term or intense trauma would play a role in that sort of development. That's as founded a theory as the theory that homosexuality has biological roots.

no, there's physical scientific evidence for the biological theory.

trauma or other psychological factors are, at least for now, inherently less provable--and given the faddish nature of psychology, even if they claim something is "proven" I would never believe them
