People Who Don't Need People

In just over two weeks, I am going on a little vacation. I'll be spending four days in Portland visiting friends and family, and then taking my little rental car and going on an Oregon Coast road trip, all by myself. I can't frickin' wait.

I need some alone time. I know, I'm alone a lot. I live alone, I'm not in a relationship, and I don't really have that much of a social life. But I am surrounded by people. Lots of them. And many of them are fucking annoying, God bless them. I want to get away.

I plan to take a blanket down to the beach some evening with a picnic dinner and a carefully disguised bottle of something or other, and watch the sun slowly sink into the Pacific. I'll be there on a Wednesday and Thursday, so hopefully midweek it will be pretty quiet.

My ass might be sitting in a cubicle on Wall Street right now, but my mind is already there.

"I'm not in a relationship, and I don't really have that much of a social life."

Considering the nature of any social life you would have, Falwell, Robertson, Moses and myself are grateful for that!

(Not really, but I have the right to make fun as my social life is more pathetic than yours)

Yeah, yeah, I know, there is no gay lifestyle! You know what I meant!

PubNight has a branch in Portland (both Portlands, actually). You should drop in if you're there over a Wednesday; my friends will make sure you're well taken care of.

A, save me a dance while we're rendezvousing in the Northwest. We both have no social life... for very different reasons. But we are both well-loved.

Sounds blissful Andy. But if you do get lonely, don't hesitate to call. If I don't answer it's only because I'm taking a final.

The plans for the trip sound lovely, Andy. I hope you find what you are looking for.

Getting away from the city into nature can do wonders. I hope you have a good time.

I have the right to make fun as my social life is more pathetic than yours LC, as I do not find this right explicitly enumerated in the Constitution, I reject this argument.

Mike: Alas, I'll be at the beach my only Wednesday. Is there a Newport, Oregon chapter? If anyone wants to tip the strippers at Silverado on Monday, though, they know who to call.

Quinn: You, me, Nat and Audrey can sit in the back with the other sinners. ; )

God help us if our only rights are enumerated in the Constitution. Don't forget the ninth amendment.

oh good grief, LC, he was only poking at you because social conservatives are always saying this or that right the Left considers obvious or necessary "isn't in the Constitution."

Yeah, seriously, LC. Y'all are the ones saying "there's no right to privacy because it's not in the Constitution!" See, you Scalia "originalists" are not as consistent as you think you are. Pshaw.
