Moments ago, the Washington State Supreme Court ruled that the state ban on same-sex marriage does not violate their constitution. I'm particularly disappointed, since I was born in Washington.
With all of these state bans on gay marriage, and the three recent state supreme court rulings upholding them, we're seeing a very depressing outlook for gays in America.
Except Democrats will have about three-quarters of the governorships (meaning a lot of new statewide judicial appointments) and most of the legislatures after November.
Expect reversals. Not soon, but we can wait. (Those of us who are single can, anyway.)

It used to be that the courts were on our side.
*sigh*
