I just came across this in a book yesterday and liked it, though I have not yet decided whether I agree with it or not.
I just thought it was worthy of pondering.
I think people's reaction to it will depend on what they think it means to "know God." Some people think that means to know God's will with surety; for me, it's more the quiet confidence that comes from knowing God is there.
It also plays a bit with the difference between a "belief," which can't be proved, and "knowledge" of what truly is.

Know G-d? Isn't that an oximoron, the idea very concept of "knowing G-d" ? Yup.
The "Wholly Other" cannot, by Their very difinition, ever be known, never mind fully.
Only Encountered.

Not sure if I know God, but I am sure that there is one. I wouldn't be as happy as I am if there wasn't.
Andy, I still believe you're very cute :)
Is that different than knowing I'm cute?
Is the implication that Andy is G-O-D?
Don't listen to Courtney; she doesn't even want to learn how to cook dal!
