The next terrorist attack is going to be scary bad. I dont think it will take as many lives but they'll knock out so much infastructure we'll be suffering the direct effects for much longer than 9-11.Imagine NYC with 6 subway lines knocked out...only took one fire to take down the C line. Nine months to fix.
Well, that's one of the principal reasons that I think Bush has been a disastrous President. Yes, you have to go after the terrorists (preferably the real ones...you know, the ones that attacked us versus the ones that didn't without weapons) and you've got to do everything in your power to prevent future attacks, but we also need to be better prepared for what is almost certainly an inevitability.The really obvious things have just not been done. To be fair, I can't just blame Bush. I mean, the MTA never undertook a study of potential vulnerabilities to terrorist or vandal attack? There was no plan in place? That's scary.
