No offense, but I have no clue what you are talking about.

Lord of the Rings, Peter. Lord of the Rings!

Ugh, I can't believe you're serious. :-(

Matthew, Yes, I do realize it's "Lord of the Rings." BUT, other than that, no I don't know what Andy is talking about.

Don't feel bad, Peter, I'm just indulging my inner geek. If you go through the indices at the end of The Return of the King, Tolkien actually posted the dates on which the major events of his books took place...I'm just sort of putting them in my blog because I'm a dork.

So...March 4 in the year 3019 of the Third Age was the day that these events took place.

Did you see the films? We're toward the end of "The Two Towers" here, though the chronology got shifted around for various reasons in the films. Remember the big battle with the Uruk-Hai (big, hot, muscly Orcs) when the viking-people (Rohirrim) were holed up in their big castle (Helm's Deep)? Okay, so that battle ended and now Gandalf (Ian McKellen, the wizard) and Theoden, King of Rohan (the guy who was really old until Gandalf exorcized him and gave him a makeover) are now riding toward Isengard, the big spiky tower where Saruman (the bad wizard) lives. Meanwhile, Frodo (Elijah Wood) has finished crossing the nasty swamp and has almost reached the Black Gate of Mordor (Morannon).

Are you more or less confused now? LOL.
